What is the easiest way to make a pom pom?
Step 1: Make Your Pom-Pom
There are a few ways to make a pom pom, but I find the easiest way to make a pom-pom is by using a Clover pom-pom maker. It creates the perfect ball every time and saves you from cutting out cardboard circles. If you don’t have one, no worries—you can use the DIY method with cardboard, too!
Wrap the Yarn
Open one side of your Clover pom-pom maker and evenly wrap yellow yarn around the arches until they are full. Repeat on the other side.

Cut the Yarn
Close the arches and use scissors to cut along the middle of the loops on both sides.

Tie It Together
Tightly tie a piece of yarn around the middle of the loops, securing it with a double knot. This step ensures your pom-pom stays intact.
Fluff and Trim
Remove the pom-pom maker and trim your pom-pom to create a round, fluffy shape. You can make a smaller or larger pom-pom, depending on your preference.
Step 2: Create the Beak and Feet
Now it’s time to cut out the features that will bring your chicks to life.
Draw and Cut the Shapes
Using orange felt, cut out a small triangle for the beak and two oval or flower-like shapes for the feet. You can also use craft foam for extra sturdiness.
Prepare the Pieces
Set these aside while you get ready to attach them to your pom-pom.

Step 3: Assemble Your Chick
With all the pieces ready, it’s time to bring your chick together!
Attach the Feet
Add a small dab of glue to the feet and stick them to the bottom of the pom-pom. Hold them in place for a few seconds to ensure they’re secure.

Glue the Beak and Eyes
Attach the small triangle to the front of your pom-pom as the beak. Add two googly eyes above the beak to bring your chick to life.
Add Wings (Optional)
Use a pipe cleaner or extra yarn to create little wings, adding even more character to your chick.

Step 4: Personalize Your Chicks
Feel free to get creative! You can make smaller pom-poms for baby chicks or use pastel-colored yarn for a fun Easter twist. Add accessories like little bows or mini hats to make each chick unique.
Enjoy making one of the cutest spring crafts! Happy Easter!
