Meet Kat

Hey! I’m Kat & I’m obsessed with sewing and slow fashion. I founded The Style Cycle in 2020 and have been on a journey towards a more sustainable wardrobe ever since!

bonjour, mon ami!

I’m so glad you’re here.

Welcome to The Style Cycle where sustainability meets style. I’m incredibly passionate about all things related to sustainable fashion and beauty. From ethical brands prioritising people and the planet to the abundance of secondhand fashion waiting to be discovered, I’m here to share my journey and insights with you.

In a world that often prioritises fast fashion and quick fixes, I believe in the power of slow and sustainable choices.

My mission is to inspire and empower you to make mindful decisions when it comes to your wardrobe.

Join me on this sustainable style journey because I can’t wait to connect with like-minded individuals who share my passion for conscious dressing.

Thank you for being here, and I look forward to getting to know you better!

FAQ

I founded The Style Cycle 4 years ago but started blogging around 2 years ago. I was a nurse for nearly 10 years before but desperately needed a change. So, I decided to start a secondhand clothes shop for kids. It was great but I loved writing about sustainable fashion and owning a website more.

I started sewing about 20 years ago when I studied Design & Textiles at school but stopped sewing when I left. I started back again about 2 years ago and have slowly got back into it. I am determined to create the majority of my wardrobe myself and I can’t wait to create my own patterns!

I am currently learning myself but I imagine in a few months I will be adding some blog posts about my sewing projects and the beginner patterns I love to use.

Obviously being a sustainable fashion obsessive I only shop secondhand or from slow/sustainable fashion brands. There are so many places that I love: Vinted, Elite (Manchester), charity shops, vintage shops, This is Unfolded, Lucy & Yak, Molby The Label and loads more. I have lots of blog posts with my fave sustainable brands to check out too 🙂

There are loads of ways you can work with me and if you want to get in touch you can email me at [email protected] or fill out the contact form on my website too. I really look forward to hearing from you!
