Manchester is the online fashion capital of the UK and online brands have been able to reach a wider audience with the rise of social media. These brands have therefore been able to leverage their online presence to connect with fashion enthusiasts and build a loyal customer base.

12 Best sustainable fashion brands in Manchester
I was lucky enough to meet the creative entrepreneurs behind some of the brands at Manchester’s Future Fashion Fair (an indoor/outdoor market) held at The Yard located in Cheetham Hill.
It was the perfect venue, showcasing 35 of the hottest upcoming brands all hoping to dismantle and disrupt the business of fast fashion.
I’m from South Manchester myself so was really excited to go and check out the talent showcasing secondhand, vintage clothing, upcycled and brand new eco-friendly brands… as well as try some delicious food and coffee!
What a great experience and such a refreshing change to shop where the focus is on sustainability and the environment.
I have included some of these brands in the list below…
1. Beaumont Organic
Beaumont Organic is a premium and sustainable fashion brand located in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
The brand offers timeless pieces in GOTS-certified organic cotton and eco-friendly fabrics such as linen, tencel, lyocell and non-mulesed wool.
Beaumont Organic’s collection includes womenswear, babywear, homeware and accessories so, if you want beautiful, contemporary and conscious clothing, you should check out Beaumont Organic.
2. Emiko Studios
Emiko is a sustainable clothing brand based in Stockport, Manchester.
Japanese silhouettes and vintage workwear inspire Emiko’s collections and each item is handcrafted from start to finish.
They source ethical, organic, deadstock material to reduce waste in their business and also offer free repairs on all garments and host local workshops to mend your own clothing! I would love to check this workshop out!
3. Private White V.C.
Private White V.C. is a British clothing brand known for its heritage-inspired menswear, particularly its high-quality outerwear and classic garments.

SYLK is a unisex premium vintage and designer store with a focus on minimal and timeless style. The whole business is run from an old mill located in Ardwick, Manchester.
Sustainability is a key part of SYLK, from using biodegradable packaging to sourcing local stock meaning the majority of their stock is now sourced in the UK and they hand-pick all of the items to ensure the right style and quality.
6. De Lacy
De Lacy is a luxury designer of leather bags and accessories, founded in 2005 by Edward De Lacy.
Most of his work has a minimalist style and is handcrafted in his Manchester-based studio. The collections are designed and crafted in limited runs as the founder Edward, is very passionate about high quality and buying less but better.
7. The Fruit Moth
The Fruit Moth is a sustainable fashion brand that was launched in November 2020 by Nicole. Nicole designs and creates clothing with a conscience, focusing on upcycling and repurposing clothing from fabrics that already exist!
Sustainability is at the heart of the brand aiming for zero waste. Any offcuts of fabric are reworked into small accessories like scrunchies, or donated to the local primary school to be used for craft projects.

RheaBFunky’s creations often feature intricate designs, bright colours, and a touch of bohemian flair.
Every item is hand-sewn by Rhea and most are one of a kind. Each collection is made in small batches which makes the garments unique and she can use every last scrap of fabric by using them to make patchwork items for the gloves, bikinis and corset tops. Amazing!
