Boavista Club: Sustainable Brand Review
Boavista Club: Brand Review
Boavista Club is a new ethical fashion brand, with a purpose.
Wearing: Boavista
Trousers (Rio Print) – 119.90 euros
The Brand
Boavista was founded by Sabrina, who loves to share her passion for life and support women from her community. As a female-run business, empowerment for women is at the heart of the brand.
Boavista has partnered with a Lisbon-based NGO ‘Bandim’ which empowers women all over the world to develop their handicraft skills into their own source of income.
The products are created and produced ethically and sustainably. The fabric used is 100% Tencel, which is fairly made in Austria, dyed in Barcelona and printed in Portugal. Sabrina also visits the factories herself to ensure great working conditions and fair wages for her garment workers. The products are packaged in a canvas bag made from 100% recycled cotton and shipped in recycled cardboard boxes.
Boavista has a ‘second life’ initiative where they promise to take back any Boavista product you may not wear anymore for free. They give the returned items the best possible second life through upcycling, reselling, donating or recycling the products.
10% of their revenue is also donated to ‘Bandim’ (mentioned above). Soon products which are designed and created by the women here will be available to buy from the Boavista Club store! How amazing!
My Thoughts
When I received my Boavista trousers I was so excited to try them on, they were such a bright and colourful print and I love a bit of colour in my wardrobe!
Sabrina also made sure they would fit as I told her my height plus they are adjustable around the waist, so the perfect fit. I chose the ‘Rio’ print as I thought it would blend well with my red hair.
I loved the fabric, it was so silky and felt so soft on my skin. Tencel has a long-lasting softness and contributes to breathability so they do feel great when I wear them. The colours are so bright and bold and although I find it hard to get a bright print like this that doesn’t fade, these haven’t yet!
I actually can’t wait for the weather to warm up again so I can get them back on, the fabric is quite delicate so probably best for warmer weather, but I am based in the North of England so it tends to be colder more often than other places in the UK!
Would I recommend Boavista?
Yes. I definitely would.
I think these trousers are the perfect fit for anyone looking to add a splash of colour to their wardrobes. They do have more options for plainer styles if that’s your thing.
The adjustable waist shows the size-inclusive element as they are a one size fits all design, just make sure to choose the right length for your height!
A brand with real purpose, focussing on sustainability, ethical products and female empowerment!
You can also use the code ‘THESTYLECYCLE15’ for 15% off your order from Boavista.
Disclaimer: the trousers pictured were gifted by Sabrina to The Style Cycle but I have no obligation to post the pictures on Instagram or write this review. I genuinely am a massive fan of the brand and wanted to tell you all about it.
