The Brand
Big Wild Thought is a sustainable clothing and accessories brand that aims to help conservation efforts around the world, established in 2018.
They produce staple pieces of clothing for men, women and kids from 0-14 years old. Each item supports the conservation of your choice. The 2 animals I chose were the grass snake and the grey wolf. Other examples include the ocean-inspired range, cats & dogs and summer bumblebees and many more. They then donate 10% of every sale to the relevant wildlife charities.
Their products are manufactured in a Bangladesh factory who are GOTS-certified and audited by the Fair Wear foundation. This means that all of the workers have rights which follow the eight fundamental ILO conventions.
The pieces are made from sustainable fabrics such as organic cotton and recycled polyester and the embroidery is done at home in the Big Wild Thought HQ in Sheffield.
My Thoughts
When I received an email from the brand asking me if I would like to try some of their pieces I was super excited. I am a massive animal lover and loved that I had the chance to promote such a thoughtful and sustainable brand.
Firstly, I chose to support the grass snake. I’ve always been so curious about snakes, they fascinate me and scare me in equal measure.
The second animal I chose was the grey wolf. I have a real soft spot for wolves as my son is called ‘Raife’ which means ‘the wise wolf’ so as soon as I saw the wolf it was meant to be.
The items were delivered so quickly and I thought the quality of both the sweatshirt and the t-shirt was excellent. The fabric is so soft and comfortable to wear, I haven’t had them off my back since I received them. (Not even kidding).
Extremely happy and grateful I was able to be a part of a collaboration with such a thoughtful brand.
Size-wise, I usually wear a size 8-10. I chose the medium as I don’t like my casual tops to be too tight and this worked out perfectly.
Big Wild Thought Christmas
Novelty Crimbo jumpers are great but having a timeless piece of Christmas clothing and being able to wear your Christmas jumper year after year feels so much more sustainable to me.
